10 questions to ask your vendors about AI

As you learn more about AI tools for Human Resources, here are some key questions to ask your vendors to ensure that the tools you select will be difference-makers – and not have unintended consequences.

1) How will generative AI address my HR problems and provide better outcomes?

2) How has generative AI been trained for this application, and how does it learn?

3) How are the results validated? What process is used by prompt engineers to ensure the results are accurate? Ask the vendor to walk you through the validation process.

4) How are the decision choices offered? Do humans make the final decisions?

5) What methods do you use to address potential biases in the AI algorithms, and how do you work on bias mitigation? Ensure that the solution is trained in compliance with all regulations and anti-discrimination laws.

6) Who owns the risk if something goes wrong?

7) What is the plan to keep this solution fresh as AI capabilities evolve?

8) How does your AI tool handle data privacy and security?

9) What level of technical support and training do you provide to HR professionals using your tool?

10) Can your tool provide analytics and reporting capabilities for HR insights?

By asking these questions, you can gain a better understanding of the AI tool’s capabilities, suitability for your organization, and the vendor’s commitment to providing a reliable and ethical solution for your HR needs.
