Innovation 2024: New talent acquisition and retention tools to explore

Over the past year, I have been looking at different companies that are leading the way in innovative support for candidates, employees, and leaders. Here are a few of my favorite recent discoveries.

For candidates:

Candidates want a consumer experience when looking for a job (think Amazon). A candidate once told me he wanted a “Domino’s Pizza experience” when looking for a job. Imagine how excited I was to see Candidate FYI appear on the market last year. They are getting rave reviews from candidates – and organizations alike — for having all the information candidates need to be successful in one place (scheduling, bios of those they are interviewing with, benefits information, company information, and more).

Other resources helping candidates (or employees) gather the information they need are Page Tiger, which makes interactive documents come alive, and PivotCX, a wide-ranging tool for managing candidate communications.

For inclusive job descriptions, check out Clovers and their Google extension to ensure your language attracts a broad applicant pool.

For employees:

Financial support: After reading and hearing all the news around student loans, it was interesting to see two companies offering financial planning support beyond just 401k advice – including managing student loan debt, other debt, planning for future expenses (non-retirement), and others. Check out these options providing a holistic approach: Northstar Money and Rolan Wealth.

Commuter, wellness, and other benefits: Edenred offers benefits for commuters that comply with regulations in several major cities, personal wellness offers, and many other ways to support your employees. I found their offerings unique and helpful to solve transportation issues employees may be facing.

Childcare: Building a childcare center is out of range for many employers. Take a look at Upwards as an option to help employees find at-home daycare in their neighborhood.

For leaders:

Grief: Ever wished your leaders had a play-by-play guide on how to respond to an employee dealing with a death, divorce, or other disruption? Workplace Healing is a tool that helps leaders balance head and heart when dealing with disruptions impacting their employees.
